How much time do I have to get emission repairs?

You have 1 month from the last day of the month indicated on the inspection sticker to make repairs and return for a re-inspection. Keep in mind that law enforcement is allowed to issue a summons for any vehicle that has failed an inspection. Red stickers do not prevent citations. Avoid hassle by fixing problems sooner rather than later.

What happens after my emissions repair?

Now that your emission problems are fixed, you'll need to get your vehicle reinspected. If repairs are made here, the re inspeciton fee is included at no extra charge. Make sure to bring the Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) and the Emission Repair Form (ERF) with you. You may choose to have your second inspection at a State Inspection Facility or Private Inspection Facility. You'll also need your driver license, registration, and insurance card.
